VTF Creative Skills Academy “Raise Your Game” is a FREE skills development programme that focuses on helping Edinburgh-based individuals who wish to work in creative industries to develop the necessary skills and confidence to secure employment or project work in the future.
This course has been developed through a new partnership between Capital City Partnership and Creative Edinburgh to provide individuals with practical guidance and skills to support their professional development as they plan for the next step in their careers.
The programme will offer training to help thirty unemployed or underemployed people in Edinburgh to build essential workplace skills. Through Raise Your Game, participants will build confidence, improve their employability and enhance their CVs, equipping them with tools and skills needed to thrive in their careers.
The programme will encourage participants to talk to others about their career aims and will provide them with the space, confidence and skills required to work toward the next stage of their creative career with a clear mission in mind.
The eight interactive workshops will be delivered online via Zoom on Tuesday and Thursday mornings between 09:30 - 12:00 from 21 January 2025 - 20 February 2025. The sessions will be delivered by seven experienced experts and coordinated by a friendly programme coordinator.
Over five weeks, you will have access to curated resources and practical working tools, including drop-in sessions with Macmillan Skills Hub dedicated to developing your CV or preparing for job interviews. You will gain access to Creative Edinburgh events to support you through each chapter of development in real-time.
The first and final programme session will be delivered in person to share and reflect on your development experiences and celebrate your successes. There will be an opportunity to meet potential employers from the local festivals and various creative agencies during the final Insight to Industry Session where training participants will learn about upcoming job openings, and project work and meet colleagues from key industry organisations.
