Curious about the world of project management but don’t know where to start? What kind of work does a project manager do? What roles are available for entry-level talent? What skills might you need to work in this area? Join us on Thursday 30 May from 17:00 BST as we pose these questions and more to 16 industry experts from the world of project management. They’ll be ready to shed light on the opportunities out there, share insights into their roles and offer advice for anyone looking to follow a similar path. How will it work? The event will take place over Zoom on Thursday 30 May, from 17:00 to 20:00 BST, and is split into two parts: 🎤 Part 1 – Panel discussion (17:00 to 18:25) A panel discussion with a range of industry experts, covering questions on everything from the skills needed to work in project management, to their tips on breaking into the industry. 🤝 Part 2 – Breakout rooms between industry experts and select attendees (18:25 to 20:00) Select attendees will be put into breakout rooms with our pros, where you’ll get the chance to meet and ask questions directly to them. This will then rotate, so you get to meet different industry experts throughout the evening. Please note While all eligible applicants are welcome to attend the panel discussion, there are only a limited number of places available for the breakout sessions, so make sure you sign up to register your interest before 23:59, 15 May 2024. How to apply This event is open to emerging creatives with an interest in working in the creative industry. This includes students, grads and those within the first year of a creative career – or if you're simply interested in learning about what project management is. You’re only eligible to register if you are: • Aged 18 and over • And with no more than one year’s professional creative experience While no previous experience or portfolio is necessary, we do ask that you submit a question for our industry experts when you apply, along with a short line about why you’d like to attend.

Performing Voices - A mini summer school in partnership with Glasgow Women's Library

Fully funded places available for Scottish residents. This 3-day course will introduce participants to a variety of art making methods including performance, photography and film with the intention of developing an artistic voice in relation to issues such as inclusivity, equality, gender, activism and rights. Working with staff from GSA and GWL the course will consist of workshops and experimental making tasks using a variety of media which will draw on participants’ own lives. The course will result in an on-site exhibition at GWL with an opening evening of performances and readings celebrating and showcasing the work we make together.
